Coachella Music Festival (15 - 17, 22 - 24 Apr 2018)


The annual two-weekend, three-day music and arts festival is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was founded by Paul Tollett in 1999 and is organized by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Live. The event features many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures. Across the grounds, several stages continuously host live music.

Coachella showcases popular and established musical artists, as well as emerging artists and reunited groups. Notable appearances in the past include: AC/DC, Amy Winehouse, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Prince, Paul McCartney, Arcade Fire, Wu-Tang Clan, The Killers, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Madonna, The Cure, Kanye West, Eminem, Gorillaz, The Black Keys, Rage Against the Machine, Beck, Nine Inch Nails, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, Muse, Florence and the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Foo Fighters. Blue Train (Prtoea Hotel Victoria Junction)


The route between Pretoria and Cape Town is a 27-hour journey of 1 600 kilometers (994 miles), through some of the most diverse and spectacular scenery offered by the African sub-continent. On the Southbound trip, the train departs from Pretoria main train station at 8:30 and arrives in Cape Town train station at 12:00 the following day. En route to Cape Town there is a stopover and excursion in Kimberley, where we take a step back in time to the days of the diamond rush. Please note that there are no parking facilities available at Pretoria Station. Kindly make transfer arrangements. Remember, dinner is an elegant affair and men are requested to wear a jacket and tie and ladies in elegant evening wear. Inclusive of accommodation on The Blue Train, snacks, all applicable meals, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), Cognacs, Cuban Cigars and Blue Train gift. Excludes French Champagne, Caviar, external telephone calls and any other fees applicable at Sun City. Lunch, breakfast and dinner are based on The Blue Train’s standard menu. On confirmation, please advise of any other special dietary requirements. Please note that a delivery / collection fee of approximate R600 will be applicable for any car rentals that might be picked up or dropped off at Durban Station. This fee will be settled directly.

Some areas The Blue Train traverses reach temperatures ranging between -5 to -10 degrees Celsius. These conditions adversely affect the railway lines and as a cautionary & safety measure a speed restriction is in place and the off-train excursion at Kimberly might not be offered. Every effort will however be made available to ensure that the guests enjoy their stay. Please expect an estimated delay by approximately 3 hours longer than the mentioned arrival time.
